An interactive session on ‘Blue Ocean’ Strategy’ was conducted on 31st January, 2020 by Yi Yuva where resource persons Ms. Shweta Kataria (Chairperson- Yi Bhopal Chapter; Ms. Shraddha Suhane, CEO Vidyapeeth Group of Institutions and Mr. Mayank Kapoor Blue Ocean specialist and TEDx Speaker elaborated the concept of ‘Blue Ocean’ Strategy, which refers to clean and pristine market spaces. In context of this workshop Blue Ocean referred to ‘New Ideas’ or innovations that have never been thought of before. To involve the students directly, a competition was devised where students were asked to “Imagine a nation in 2075” and develop a product or service thereon. There were seven groups who proposed their innovative ideas like Air ambulance (ensuring quick help); Aawas (eliminating poverty); TechNext (E-watch projector), Headlie Helmet (Smart helmet), Techno Copy, Corruption check app; Flexi-Max. There were three best ideas awarded with trophies at the end of the event.
Winners of iper Reflexions
SHIM students have created the new benchmark of Success by winning the Overall Championship Trophy in both PG and UG at Reflexions organised by IPER on 1st and 2nd Feb 2020. UG students have won prizes in Corporate Puppets, Recitation, Treasure Hunt, Solo Dance, Ad Mad Show, Nukkad Natak, Khaadi Walk, Bingo, Indoor Cricket, Group Song, Logo Designing, Story Writing. PG students have won prizes in Ad Mad Show, Business Plan, Brand War, Virtual Share Trading.
Visit to KFC
Organization and industry visits form essential component of management education. In this series, a visit to KFC DB Mall was organized for the students of MBA Integrated II Semester on 7th & 8th February 2020 to impart practical insights into the production process in the food industry. In these two days more than 60 students got significant inputs into Supply Chain Management systems and practices.
Session on Entrepreneurship from students’ perspective
To provide the most significant inputs on Entrepreneurship from students’ perspective, an interactive session was organized in SHIM inassociation with CII-Yi Bhopal Chapter. Resource person Prof. Satyajit Majumdar, from Tata Institute of Social Science Mumbai shared his ideas on various aspects of start ups. As per Prof. Majumdar, value creation is most important in start ups. Hard work and commitment are most significant ingredients for success in entrepreneurship.
SHIM students won National Business Plan Competition
After winning the First Prize in National Research Paper Presentation Contest on 10th February 2019, SHIM students have proved their potential again. Ms. Himanshi Babbar and Ms. Anvi Jain (Integrated MBA 4th sem) have received First Prize in Sixteenth National Business Plan Competition (Swavlamban 2019) organized by Prestige Institute of Management & Research Indore on 10th April 2019. They received Cash Prize Rs. 5,000/-. Teams from ITM University Vadodara, Jaipuria Institute, SGT University Gurgaon, Prestige Institute Gwalior, Prestige Institute Indore and other Business Schools participated with great enthusiasm.
SHIM students won National Research Paper Competition
Prestige Institute of Management and Research Indore hosted Fifteenth Annual National Research Paper Presentation Contest for students on 10th February 2019. In this contest, Ms. Dolly Hingorani and Ms. Ayushi Gupta (MBA II Sem) stood First and received cash Prize Rs. 3,000. Their topic was entrepreneurship spirit among women. Participants from Aryabhatt College Ajmer, Nirma University Ahmedabad and Prestige Indore presented papers with full zeal. Ms. Lata Peswani and Ms. Mariyam Khan received special appreciation from the judges on their topic Work-life balance.
Vidhan Sabha Visit
A training program was organized at Pandit kunjilal Dubey National Parliamentary Institute Bhopal to get acquainted with the Parliamentary system of Madhya Pradesh and the country. There were 40 students from MBA (batch 2018-20) who attended this training program. Experts from State Financial Commission, General Administration Department, Vidhan Sabha Secretariat, State Information Commission and Madhya Pradesh Madhyam explained the vital components of Vidhan Sabha processes and Systems on first day. Visit to Vidhan Sabha Bhawan was arranged on second day.
Internship Training
SHIM always believes in imparting practical-oriented training to the students in order to make them industry-ready. In this direction, exclusive training sessions are organized from time to time. Based on the industry requirements, we have designed first phase of rigorous training program which started from 12th March 2019. There are 85 students who have enrolled for this one-week program. This in-house training program is aimed at preparing the students for Summer Internship and finally their placements. The second phase of training session known as Capsule Training Program would begin from 26th March 2019.
A session on Empowering Women by Ms. Renu Jethani
A session on Empowering Women by Ms. Renu Jethani, Senior Vice President- HR & IR of OCS Group, Mumbai was organized for MBA II Semester and IMBA VIII Semester students. This interactive session focused on preparing the students for internships. She emphasized on areas like effective communication, time management and working culture in corporate.
Session on Healthy Lifestyle for Success by Dr. Pratibha Khare
A Special Session on \”Healthy Lifestyle for Success\” was organized for MBA students. The resource person was Dr. Pratibha Khare, an eminent medical practitioner from USA. She in her address offered practical inputs for the students to remain healthy for the entire life. Quoting the examples from her journey, she narrated the importance of healthy mind and healthy body. By citing the difference between Western and Indian lifestyle, she highlighted the significance of being fit for better life. Valuable information on various dimensions of Life Management was provided by her. She urged the students to gain success in life and return it to the society.
At the end of session, the questions of students were answered by the resource person. Director Dr. Ashish Thakur welcomed the guest and Principal Sant Hirdaram Girls College Dr. Charanjit Kaur. The program was coordinated by Prof. Shalu Pandey.
