Debate Competition in collaboration with SBI

SHIM Research club organized Debate competition in collaboration with State Bank of India as a part of their Surveillance week activity. The students participated in debate on ‘Digital transactions: Boon or bane’. Senior managers from SBI Vigilance Department Local Head Office graced the event. Prizes worth Rs. 3000 were awarded to the winners by SBI, which included First prize to Sakshi Sharma; second prize to Bhumika Shewani; third prize to Rincy Jain and Consolation prizes to Drashti Jain and Sukrati Shukla. At the end, surveillance oath taking was conducted by SBI officials.

YUVA motivational session

Under CII-Yi YUVA motivational session series, an experience sharing session on “Journey of my life” was organized at Sant Hirdaram Institute of Management. The resource person was Ms. Ankita Shrivastava, who is a liver donor having extraordinary achievements in sports like 2 Gold, 1 Silver medals, World Record Holder in long jump in World Transplant Games 2019, National level swimmer, entrepreneur and author. She shared her journey of success where students learned on how to overcome obstacles and follow their passion. Role play 2019@IIM Indore

SHIM always believes in providing best opportunities to students at various levels. Since 2016, SHIM students have been invited by Indian Institute of Management Indore for Role Play activity. This is a unique experience, where SHIM students perform in IIM classes on a given case study under the guidance of IIM professors. This is for the fourth time, the students have performed role play on 14th November 2019. Their act received appreciation from IIM students and professors.

Rubicon’s “Connect with Work”

The Three day session – Rubicon’s “Connect with Work” training-cum-workshop witnessed interesting activities like extempore where students learnt different topics such as social media, GST and learnt how to overcome stage fear, hesitation and improve confidence and body language. Students were imparted with practical knowledge of spontaneous thinking, mind mapping and articulation of words and thoughts. The students wholeheartedly participated in the event.

On the last day of Rubicon’s 24 hours “Connect with Work” program, students were taught about the importance of organization structure. Students learnt how to deal with the corporate environment. This was an interactive session where students asked questions about the corporate life, work culture, personal management, stress management, work under pressure and many more. The workshop achieved its objectives in full-fledged manner in terms of creating immense learning for the students and making them industry-ready.

Kerwa Dam Trip

There are few things that we can\’t buy; one of such things is our childhood. To celebrate Children\’s Day, a fun-filled excursion was organised for SHIM students on 14th November at Kerwa Dam under the banner of Cultural and Sports club. There were interesting activities based on the theme ‘Back to Toddlers’, which the students have enjoyed to the fullest.

Runner up in National Research Paper Presentation Competition

In Sixteenth National Research Paper Presentation Competition for students, ‘Jigyasa-2020’ hosted by Prestige Institute of Management and Research Indore on 11th January 2020, SHIM students Ms. Aishwarya Wadhwani and Ms. Shweta Singh (MBA II Sem) stood Second and received cash Prize Rs. 2,000. Their topic was related to corporate expectations from management students. Participants from various institutes of the country presented papers with high level of enthusiasm. Another team of students Ms. Richa Yadav and Ms. Priyanshi Verma (MBA Integrated II Sem) received special applause from the jury of panel members. It was an initiative by SHIM Research Club.

Session on Blue ocean strategy by Yi Yuva

An interactive session on ‘Blue Ocean’ Strategy’ was conducted on 31st January, 2020 by Yi Yuva where resource persons Ms. Shweta Kataria (Chairperson- Yi Bhopal Chapter; Ms. Shraddha Suhane, CEO Vidyapeeth Group of Institutions and Mr. Mayank Kapoor Blue Ocean specialist and TEDx Speaker elaborated the concept of ‘Blue Ocean’ Strategy, which refers to clean and pristine market spaces. In context of this workshop Blue Ocean referred to ‘New Ideas’ or innovations that have never been thought of before. To involve the students directly, a competition was devised where students were asked to “Imagine a nation in 2075” and develop a product or service thereon. There were seven groups who proposed their innovative ideas like Air ambulance (ensuring quick help); Aawas (eliminating poverty); TechNext (E-watch projector), Headlie Helmet (Smart helmet), Techno Copy, Corruption check app; Flexi-Max. There were three best ideas awarded with trophies at the end of the event.
