The much awaited Intra-college event SHIM FEST 2019 started off with interesting events on 1st October including Dance and Rampwalk. Solo nd group dances were performed by students with enthusiasm. In rampwalk students showcased different cultures in the first round and were dressed in corporate attires for the second and the third round was followed by questions & answers. Movie screening by SPD club

SHIM SPD club keeps organizing Movie screening sessions to provide useful insights to the students. In this series the club recently organized Movie screening on \”Hawaa Hawaai\” movie for MBA integrated students. This movie taught the students various lessons including out-of-box thinking, planning, responsibility handling, rising above obstacles and time management.

Plastic free society awareness campaign

In order to contribute towards ‘Plastic free society’, SHIM Eco Club and Entrepreneurship Development Club are jointly running campaigns in various educational institutions. This is a special drive inspired by Swachh Bharat Mission and AICTE, where the students are motivating others to avoid plastic and use cloth bags instead. In this series, the students spread the awareness among the students of Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani Public School and Sant Hirdaram Girls College by briefing them about the harmful use of plastic. The students and teachers purchased cloth bags worth Rs. 5 each from SHIM students and supported for the noble cause.

The Uphaar for needy people

With the blessings and motivation of Rev. Siddh Bhauji, CSR club of Sant Hirdaram Institute of Management organized a special campaign. Following the philosophy of “Happiness comes in the joy of giving”, the club started the noble cause with the support from NGO Humble Servants of God. Under the name of ‘Uphaar’ happiness boxes were kept in the institute, where students and faculty members donated bed sheets, blankets, woolen clothes, stationary items, toys and utensils. To enlighten the Deepawali festival for the needy people, these boxes were handed over to the NGO, where the bliss of giving to society was clearly seen on the faces of SHIM students

Medical camp under Unnat Bharat Abhiyan

Under Unnat Bharat Abhiyaan, an ambitious project by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India, five villages are adopted by Sant Hirdaram Institute of Management Bhopal. This is a special campaign in collaboration with Indian Institute of Technology New Delhi to make the higher education students active partner in rural development. The villages adopted are Manikhedi, Guradiya, Kardai, Nipaniya Sukha and Rojibeg. For the better health of people of these villages, SHIM made its first attempt under the banner of CSR club, where Medical Camp was organized on 13th and 14th January 2020 in collaboration with Seva Sadan Eye Hospital and Sant Hirdaram Medical College of Naturopathy and Yogic Science. In this camp eye check-up, dental check-up and diabetes check-up were performed and free medicines along with eye glasses were distributed. More than 500 villagers got benefitted from this camp and appreciated the initiative wholeheartedly. The students participated enthusiastically in this activity and realized the importance of social responsibility.

Hitisha Varia brings laurels in Sports

SHIM always believes in women empowerment in true sense. We feel proud to announce that a student of MBA Integrated II Sem Ms. Hitisha Varia, a member of girls Football team representing Bhopal Division has received Trophy in Football Championship organized by Sports and Youth Welfare Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh in Guru Nanak Devji Regional Olympic Games 2019-20. The team of girls was awarded winner Trophy and Certificate in an event organized at T. T. Nagar Stadium Bhopal.

Debate Competition in collaboration with SBI

SHIM Research club organized Debate competition in collaboration with State Bank of India as a part of their Surveillance week activity. The students participated in debate on ‘Digital transactions: Boon or bane’. Senior managers from SBI Vigilance Department Local Head Office graced the event. Prizes worth Rs. 3000 were awarded to the winners by SBI, which included First prize to Sakshi Sharma; second prize to Bhumika Shewani; third prize to Rincy Jain and Consolation prizes to Drashti Jain and Sukrati Shukla. At the end, surveillance oath taking was conducted by SBI officials.

YUVA motivational session

Under CII-Yi YUVA motivational session series, an experience sharing session on “Journey of my life” was organized at Sant Hirdaram Institute of Management. The resource person was Ms. Ankita Shrivastava, who is a liver donor having extraordinary achievements in sports like 2 Gold, 1 Silver medals, World Record Holder in long jump in World Transplant Games 2019, National level swimmer, entrepreneur and author. She shared her journey of success where students learned on how to overcome obstacles and follow their passion. Role play 2019@IIM Indore

SHIM always believes in providing best opportunities to students at various levels. Since 2016, SHIM students have been invited by Indian Institute of Management Indore for Role Play activity. This is a unique experience, where SHIM students perform in IIM classes on a given case study under the guidance of IIM professors. This is for the fourth time, the students have performed role play on 14th November 2019. Their act received appreciation from IIM students and professors.

Rubicon’s “Connect with Work”

The Three day session – Rubicon’s “Connect with Work” training-cum-workshop witnessed interesting activities like extempore where students learnt different topics such as social media, GST and learnt how to overcome stage fear, hesitation and improve confidence and body language. Students were imparted with practical knowledge of spontaneous thinking, mind mapping and articulation of words and thoughts. The students wholeheartedly participated in the event.

On the last day of Rubicon’s 24 hours “Connect with Work” program, students were taught about the importance of organization structure. Students learnt how to deal with the corporate environment. This was an interactive session where students asked questions about the corporate life, work culture, personal management, stress management, work under pressure and many more. The workshop achieved its objectives in full-fledged manner in terms of creating immense learning for the students and making them industry-ready.
