Do You Need CMAT for MBA in Bhopal?
Short answer: it helps a lot, but it isn’t the only way in.
DTE MP runs MBA counselling in two routes. Students with a valid CMAT score get the first round of seat allotment. After that, remaining seats go to students who apply on the basis of their graduation percentage.
So if you’re serious about a specific college, take CMAT. It’s conducted by NTA, usually in January or February. If you miss it, you still have the graduation-merit route, but you’ll be choosing from the seats that are left.
The DTE MP Counselling Process, Step by Step
Here’s how the process usually runs. Dates change every year, so always check dte.mponline.gov.in for the current schedule.
1. Register online on the DTE MP portal and choose MBA under the current year’s counselling.
2. Pick your route: CMAT-based or qualifying exam (graduation) based.
3. Pay the registration fee and upload documents.
4. Fill your college choices in order of preference. This step decides everything, so list the colleges you actually want first.
5. Check seat allotment on the result date.
6. Report to the allotted college, verify documents and pay the fee to confirm the seat.
For the 2026 session, Round 1 CMAT registration ran from 19 June to 1 July. Expect a similar window in 2027.
Documents to Keep Ready
Keep these scanned and printed before registration opens:
• Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets
• Graduation marksheets (all years)
• CMAT scorecard, if you have one
• Category certificate
• MP domicile certificate
• Aadhaar card
• Passport-size photos
• Income certificate, if you’re applying for a scholarship
A missing domicile or category certificate is the most common reason students lose reserved-category benefits. Get it made early.
